Associate Editor

Babcox Media Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B print, digital and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, engine building and tire industries, is seeking an Associate Editor for its print and digital properties. In this role, the Associate Editor is an essential part of a fast-moving content team. This position is responsible for, but not limited to: day-to-day writing, editing and proofing editorial content, and playing a key role in its management and delivery; supporting the editorial, art and production process to ensure standards and deadlines are met; support for the copy editing and proofreading functions to ensure that their respective publication is factually and grammatically correct, and some project management. This is a full-time salaried non-exempt position.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar;
  • 1 to 3 years of entry-level professional service, including writing, reporting, copyediting, design and layout (B2B media and/or agency experience a plus).
  • Positive interpersonal skills and professionalism; Strong interviewing skills required.
  • Ability to contribute as a team player as well as work independently;
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Excellent attention to editorial detail;
  • Creative problem-solving skills;
  • Solid experience currently working with digital content and social media;
  • Experience in video production a plus;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines;
  • Must be computer proficient: WordPress; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) for Mac;
  • Automotive interest in highly recommended;
  • Knowledge and experience in B2B helpful, but not required.
  • Experience in the tire and/or automotive industry or an understanding of internal combustion engine operation and of basic engine math helpful.

Desktop Support Technician

Babcox Media, Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B print, digital and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, engine building and tire industries, is seeking a full time Desktop Support Technician.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC (MS Windows & Apple/Mac) hardware and software to ensure optimal workstation performance. This position will also troubleshoot problem areas (in-person, via telephone, or by e-mail/text/chat) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.

Candidates should possess an associate’s degree or technical degree in the field of computer science/information systems and/or three years of equivalent work experience. Competitive salary and benefit packages will be reviewed with applicants.
